Lessons From 2011

I’ve been thinking about the past year.

So much has happened.

   Babies have been born,

    friends have gotten married,

      dear friends have died.

Friendships have been made.

   Friendships have been lost.

    I lost a dear friend this year.

   

I learned many lessons this year.

     I am grateful

    for having learned

    all they taught me.
.

I have learned that

    I have reserves of strength

    that I didn’t know

    even existed.

I learned that

   when we lose a friend

    or loved one due to death,

    they are never far away.

They are forever in our hearts.

I learned that,

    while I have lost my voice,

    I have found another.
.

I learned

    to not undervalue myself

    as a person and as a woman.

I learned to love the moon.
.

I learned that I have so much more to learn.

I learned I can’t wait for 2012.

 

Las Lecciones del Año 2011

He estado pensando en el pasado año.

Mucho lo que ha sucedido,

  Los bebés han nacido,

     amigos se han casado,

      queridos amigos han muerto.

   

Las amistades se han hecho.
    Las amistades se han perdido.
     Perdí una querida amiga este año.
   

Aprendí muchas lecciones este año.

    Estoy agradecido

    para haber aprendido

    todos ellos me enseñaron.

Me he enterado de que
   tengo reservas de fuerza
   que yo no sabía
   ni siquiera existía.

Aprendí

   cuando perdemos a un amigo

   o querido debido a la muerte,

   ellos nunca están lejos.

Están siempre en nuestros corazones.

Aprendí que,

    mientras he perdido mi voz,

    he encontrado otro.
.

Aprendí
    a no subestimar a mí
    como persona

    y como mujer.

Aprendí a amar a la luna.

Me enteré de que tengo mucho que aprender.

Aprendí que no puedo esperar para el año 2012.
